The Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency will hold its 27th annual Walk for Warmth at 9 a.m. on Satruday, Feb. 4 at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets to raise funds for the emergency utility assistance program.

Last year’s event brought out about 700 people according to organizers. Funds from last year went to help 441 individuals in Oakland County, the agency says.

Here’s nine things to know before you go this weekend:

• Bring comfortable clothes and good walking shoes.


• Registration kicks off at 8 a.m. at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, district eight in the mall.

• Walk-in participants are welcome.

• The walk travels a .8 mile loop.

• 89X radio station will help kick off the walk.

• Mascots from the Detroit Zoo, Legoland Discovery Center and SeaLife Michigan Aquarium will be in attendance for children.

• Patrons will receive coupons to locations in the mall.

• There will be face painting, balloon animals and robotics.

• Representatives from St. Joseph Mercy Oakland will be offering free blood pressure and stroke assessments.
