Boston Celtics rumors: Andrew Bogut agrees with Los Angeles Lakers

Cross Andrew Bogut off the list of players the Boston Celtics could consider with their 15th roster spot.

The big man has agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to multiple reports.

Andrew Bogut signing with the Lakers for one year at veteran minimum, per agent David Bauman.

Wolves made major pitch for Bogutl; had playing time/role available behind KAT. Celtics, Cavs also were in mix, but Bogut liked LA vibe.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported Bogut's deal is only partially guaranteed. Though she added the Lakers are "obviously ... planning on him being a big part of the team," it's notable that such an established, solid center would agree to anything less than a fully-guaranteed contract. That might mean nothing, or it might be a sign Bogut still has injury concerns after a fractured tibia prematurely ended his 2016-17 season.

When healthy, Bogut has been an elite rebounder and rim protector. If his addition helps keep the Lakers out of the top-five, the Celtics will not receive the team's lottery pick next summer. They will collect LA's pick only if it lands 2-5.

The Celtics still have one roster spot open and a need for more frontcourt size/depth. Training camp is set to open one week from today.
