Cam Newton threw for four touchdowns to lead the Panthers to a 45-21 home win over the Dolphins on Monday night.

Carolina had a 10-point lead at halftime and then scored touchdowns on all three of its drives in the third quarter to pull away. The Panthers moved to 7-3 on the year with the victory and have now won three straight, while Miami dropped to 4-5.

Newton compiled 254 passing yards and another 95 on the ground to go along with his four scores. Jonathan Stewart tallied 110 rushing yards on 17 carries for the Panthers, while Christian McCaffrey registered two total touchdowns.

FINAL: Carolina 45, Miami 21

11:35 p.m.: It’s final in Carolina. The Panthers run out the clock and secure the big win.

11:29 p.m.: Derek Anderson has replaced Newton at quarterback for what could be the game's final drive.

11:22 p.m.: Touchdown, Miami. The Dolphins score a late touchdown off a 9-yard pass from Cutler to Jarvis Landry, but they still trail 45-21 with 4:05 left.

11:11 p.m.: Touchdown, Carolina. The Panthers are running away with it and now lead 45-14. Newton finds Devin Funchess again, this time for a 32-yard touchdown. Newton has four touchdown passes in the game.

10:59 p.m.: Cutler throws an incomplete pass on third down near midfield and the Dolphins punt with three seconds remaining in the quarter. 

10:49 p.m.: Touchdown, Carolina. Newton finds Christian McCaffrey along the right sideline for a 2-yard score as the Panthers' advantage grows to 38-14. 

10:45 p.m.: Cam Newton with another big play for Carolina. This time, he keeps the ball on a zone-read play and runs for 69 yards, moving the Panthers to the Miami 18.

10:40 p.m.: Touchdown, Miami. Kenyan Drake accelerates through the line of scrimmage and makes a Carolina defender miss in the secondary on his way to a 66-yard touchdown run. The Dolphins now trail 31-14 with 5:47 to play in the third quarter.

10:34 p.m.: Touchdown, Carolina. The Panthers are pulling away from Miami and now lead 31-7. Cameron Artis-Payne takes a handoff, runs through an arm tackle at the line of scrimmage and goes into the end zone for the 12-yard score. 

10:29 p.m.: Miami decides to go for it on a fourth-and-1 on its 48. Damien Williams is brought down behind the line of scrimmage by Luke Kuechly and the Dolphins turn it over on downs.

10:23 p.m.: Touchdown, Carolina. Two plays after Samuel’s drop, the Panthers punch it in and take a 24-7 lead. Newton throws a screen pass to Devin Funchess, who avoids Miami's tacklers for a 28-yard touchdown.

10:20 p.m.: Newton hits Curtis Samuel in the hands with a pass in the end zone but the receiver drops it. Following the play, Samuel is helped off the field and into the locker room with an injury. Carolina now faces a second-and-10 from the Miami 29. 

10:13 p.m.: We’re back for the second half in Carolina. The Panthers will start the period with the ball.

Halftime: Carolina 17, Miami 7

9:59 p.m.: The Panthers head into the locker room with a 10-point lead. Newton already has 145 passing yards as well as a touchdown. Carolina has outgained Miami 220-118 

9:56 p.m.: Touchdown, Carolina. The Panthers take advantage of Cutler’s mistake and take a 17-7 lead. Newton finds Ed Dickson on a post route for a 7-yard touchdown just before halftime.

9:51 p.m.: Turnover, Miami. Cutler underthrows a pass on the first play of the drive and Luke Kuechly picks it off. Carolina has the ball on the Dolphins' 20 with 41 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

9:50 p.m.: The Panthers pick up one first down but their drive stalls near midfield. They punt to Miami, which gets the ball back trailing by three with 47 seconds left in the half.

9:36 p.m.: Touchdown, Miami. The Dolphins answer Carolina’s long touchdown drive with one of their own and they now trail 10-7. Cutler leads a 10-play, 75-yard drive that ends with a shovel pass to Julius Thomas for the score. Four Miami plays on that possession went for 10 yards or more.

9:22 p.m.: Touchdown, Carolina. Christian McCaffrey takes a handoff near the goal line, makes a pair of Dolphins tacklers miss and runs into the end zone to put Carolina ahead 10-0. That Panthers' drive ate up 6:17 of game time.

9:13 p.m.: Miami picks up a pair of first downs but Julius Thomas drops a deep pass from Cutler and the Dolphins punt for a third time.

End of first quarter: Carolina 3, Miami 0

9:02 p.m.: Field goal, Carolina. Christian McCaffrey makes a short run and Newton throws an incomplete pass following the near interception. Graham Gano enters and kicks a 40-yard field goal to put the Panthers ahead 3-0.

8:57 p.m.: Newton drives the Panthers into Miami territory. On first down he’s forced out of the pocket and throws a pass in the direction of Russell Shepard. T.J. McDonald steps in front of Shepard and appears to picks off the ball, but after review the call is overturned and Carolina maintains possession.

8:47 p.m.: Carolina sacks Jay Cutler on second down and Damien Williams follows with a run well short of the marker. Miami punts and Carolina will take over on its 35 following a holding penalty on the return.  

8:42 p.m.: Christian McCaffrey hauls in a pass from Newton and turns it into a 19-yard gain. The drive eventually stalls when Russell Shepard fails to pull in a Newton throw on third down and Carolina is forced to punt. 

8:35 p.m.: The Dolphins pick up one first down but fail to move the chains again. They punt to Carolina, which will start its first possession at its 15.

8:31 p.m.: We’re underway in Carolina. The Dolphins will start the game’s first drive at their 27.

8:14 p.m.: Carolina has announced its starters.
