On Tuesday, July 18, you can get a short stack (that's three cakes) of IHOP pancakes for 59 cents. The offer is good from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. for dine-in customers only. Participation varies (you can see a list of participating locations here) and there's a limit of one special per person. The first International House of Pancakes opened in Toluca Lake, California outside of Los Angeles in 1958, with founder Al and Jerry Lapin and early investors Al and Trudy Kallis. There are currently more than 1,650 IHOP restaurants in 50 states and around the world. According to the company, 99 percent of its current locations are franchises. The chain's signature event each year is IHOP's National Pancake Day, its event that raises money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The event had raises more than $20 million for charity in its 12 years.
